1At a glance

This Privacy Policy explains what information PetsWorld collects when you use our mobile app or website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data. We've tried to write it in plain English — if anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom and we'll explain.

2Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and account password (or, for phone-OTP sign-in, just the phone number).
• Delivery information: recipient name, phone number, full address with pincode, optional landmark.
• Order information: the products you add to your cart, save to your wishlist, or order, together with quantities and chosen pack sizes.
• Product reviews: star rating and any text you submit on a product.
• Support communications: messages you send us by email, phone, or chat.

Information collected automatically

• Order metadata: order date, status changes, payment method.
• Device & app diagnostics: operating system, app version, error logs (no personally identifying content), to help us fix crashes and improve performance.

Information we do not collect

• Card numbers, CVVs, or banking credentials. Online payments are processed entirely by Razorpay — payment details never reach our servers.
• Precise location (GPS). We use the pincode you enter at checkout to confirm delivery serviceability and that's it.
• Contacts list, microphone, camera (unless you choose to upload a product photo via the app's image picker), or background activity.

3How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• Create and maintain your account, including authenticating you on sign-in.
• Process and fulfil your orders, including handing off your delivery address and phone number to our local delivery partner.
• Send transactional messages — order confirmations, status updates, delivery notifications, and password reset emails.
• Respond to your support questions and complaints.
• Detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• Comply with applicable laws and tax obligations in India.
• Improve the catalog, fix bugs, and design new features based on aggregated usage data.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles or to share with advertisers.

4Who we share information with

We share specific pieces of information with a small set of trusted service providers strictly to operate the service — and only the minimum needed for each provider to do their job. None of these partners may use your information for their own advertising.

We may also disclose information if required by law, by a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others. We will tell you about such a request unless legally prohibited.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

5Cookies & local storage

Our website and app use a small amount of local storage to remember:

• Whether you are signed in, and your authentication token (so you don't have to sign in on every visit).
• Your theme preference (light, dark, or device).
• Recently viewed and saved items, to make the experience faster.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking pixel.

6Data retention

We keep your information only for as long as we need to provide the service or comply with the law.

• Account information is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, addresses, cart, and saved items are removed from our database within 30 days.
• Order records are kept for up to 7 years after the order date, to comply with Indian accounting and tax laws.
• Application logs and crash reports are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted.

7Your rights

You can exercise the following rights at any time:

• Access & correction: view and edit your name, email, phone, and addresses from the Profile section of the app.
• Delete your account: open the PetsWorld app → Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, saved items, cart, and addresses. Past order records may be retained as required by tax law (see Section 6).
• Export your data: contact us at the email below and we'll send you a copy of your account data within 30 days.
• Withdraw consent / object to processing: stop using the service or delete your account.

8Security

Information is transmitted between your device and our servers over TLS (HTTPS). Account passwords are stored as hashes by Firebase Authentication — never in plain text. Payment card data never reaches our servers; it is handled directly by Razorpay's PCI-DSS-certified infrastructure.

Access to our administrative tools is restricted to authorised team members with a role-based check on every request.

No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately using the details below.

9Children's privacy

PetsWorld is intended for adults (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our service evolves or as required by law. When we make a material change we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and if the change significantly affects your rights we will notify you inside the app or by email.
